SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL COMMITTEE MEETING

The next meeting of the Sunflower Festival Committee is Monday, August 9, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at city hall. Volunteers are still needed. Please come to the meeting if you are interested. The Festival will be Saturday, September 18.

GARBAGE PICKUP AND RECYCLING

The Mayor and Council are happy to announce a new garbage pickup and recycling service. Please go to the "Public Works" page for details.

Recycling tip of the month: Recycle junk mail or reuse it as scratch paper. to opt-out of certain junk-mailing lists, go to op-out.cdt.org.

STATHAM LIBRARY

Blow out sale on books, cds, and cassette audio books continues through the month of August. New books are added weekly to the sale. Hardback books are $1.00; audio cassette books are $1.00; cds are 50 cents; and paperback books are 25 cents.

SEWER SIGNUP

The sewer extension project is moving along on schedule. It is time to sign up for new sewer service at the lower tap rate ($1,200). Sign up at city hall; payment plan is available. The new lines are in the following areas: Providence Road, 1st St, 2nd St, 3rd St, Jefferson St., Hillcrest Dr., Oak Springs St., Baker St., and Lakewood Dr.
